Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how AI Persona ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our mobile application ("App").

By using AI Persona, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address
• Display name
• Profile picture (optional)
• Phone number (optional)
• Bio (optional)

1.2 Authentication Data

We store authentication-related data including:

• Firebase User ID
• Google Account ID (if you sign in with Google)
• Apple ID identifier (if you use Sign in with Apple)
• Encrypted password hash (for email/password accounts)
• Authentication provider type

1.3 Chat and Conversation Data

When you use our chat features, we collect:

• Messages you send and receive
• Chat session metadata (timestamps, message counts)
• Sentiment analysis of conversations
• Message attachments (images, files, voice recordings)

Voice input is converted to text using your device's built-in speech recognition service (provided by your device's platform vendor, subject to its privacy policy); we receive the resulting text.

1.4 AI Persona Data

When you create or interact with AI personas, we collect:

• Persona names, descriptions, and configurations
• Personality traits and language styles
• Knowledge base documents you upload
• Voice settings and preferences
• Interaction statistics (conversation counts, likes)

1.5 Usage Information

We automatically collect information about how you use the App:

• Daily message counts
• Number of personas created
• Storage space used
• API calls made
• Feature usage patterns
• Session activity timestamps

1.6 Device Information

We collect device-related information including:

• Device identifier
• Device type and model
• Operating system version
• Push notification tokens (FCM)
• Platform (operating system)
• Advertising identifier — your device's resettable advertising ID (for example, Apple's Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) on iOS) — used only when you are on the free tier and only with your consent (see Section 4: Advertising). You can reset or opt out of this identifier in your device settings at any time.

1.7 Payment Information

For subscription purchases, we collect:

• Subscription tier and status
• Purchase tokens or transaction identifiers from the app store where you subscribed
• Billing cycle information
• Subscription expiration dates

Note: We do not directly process or store credit card information. All payments are handled securely through your device's app store.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the App - Enable core features like AI chat, persona creation, and account management
• Process subscriptions - Manage your subscription tier and enforce usage limits
• Improve our services - Analyze usage patterns to enhance features and performance
• Personalize your experience - Remember your preferences and settings
• Send notifications - Deliver push notifications for chat messages and updates
• Ensure security - Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security threats
• Provide customer support - Respond to your inquiries and resolve issues
• Serve advertising - Display ads to free-tier users to support the App at no cost; see Section 4 for details
• Comply with legal obligations - Meet regulatory and legal requirements

3. Data Retention

Your data is retained according to your subscription tier:

• Account data is retained until you delete your account
• Usage statistics are retained for analytics purposes
• Chat messages older than your tier's retention period are automatically deleted

When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed from our systems.

4. Advertising

To keep the free tier of AI Persona genuinely free, we display ads to free-tier users. Premium, Basic, and Pro subscribers do not see any ads — the advertising SDK is gated on your subscription status and is not initialized for paid users beyond a no-op path.

4.1 Our Ad Partner

We use Google AdMob as our advertising provider. AdMob is operated by Google LLC and acts as an independent data controller for the data it collects to serve, measure, and personalize ads.

4.2 What AdMob Collects

When you are on the free tier and have given the appropriate consent (see Section 4.3), AdMob may collect:

• Your advertising identifier (such as Apple's IDFA on iOS) — a resettable, non-personally-identifying ID
• Approximate IP-based location
• Device type, OS, app version, and language settings
• Interactions with ads (impressions, clicks, video completions)
• Crash and ad-performance diagnostics

AdMob does not receive your email, display name, chat messages, persona content, knowledge-base documents, or any other content you create in the App. Your AI Persona account data and your ad-serving data live in separate systems.

4.3 Consent and Choice

European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Brazil: On first launch we show a consent screen powered by Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP), as required by GDPR / UK GDPR / LGPD. You can choose to receive personalized or non-personalized ads, and you can change your choice at any time from the App's settings.

iOS users: On first launch we show Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt. If you deny tracking, AdMob will only show non-personalized ads (ads chosen based on coarse signals like time of day and country, not on your individual identifier).

All users: You can reset your advertising identifier or disable ad personalization device-wide via your device settings (on Apple devices: Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising; on other devices, see the privacy or ads section of your device settings).

4.4 Reward Ads

Free-tier users who hit their daily message limit may optionally watch a rewarded video ad to unlock additional messages for the day. Watching a rewarded ad is always your choice — declining the offer never penalizes you beyond the standard daily limit.

4.5 Where Ads Appear

Ads on the free tier may appear:

• As cards within the Home and Explore feeds
• At the bottom of persona detail screens
• After ending a chat session (occasionally, never more than once every few sessions)
• As the optional reward video described in Section 4.4

Ads will never appear in the middle of a live chat conversation, on account-creation or sign-in screens, or on the billing / subscription pages.

5. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:

5.1 Service Providers

We use third-party services to operate our App:

• Firebase (Google) - Authentication, crash reporting, and push notifications
• Your device's app store (e.g., the Apple App Store on iOS) - Subscription billing and payment processing
• Google AdMob - Advertising on the free tier (see Section 4 above)
• Freeway AI Gateway - AI-powered chat responses
• FileRunner - Secure file storage for uploads

5.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests.

5.3 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

• Password encryption using bcrypt hashing
• Secure token authentication with JWT (JSON Web Tokens)
• HTTPS encryption for all data transmission
• Secure storage using encrypted storage mechanisms
• Access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel

While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your data:

7.1 Access and Export

You can access your usage data through the App's analytics features.

7.2 Correction

You can update your profile information at any time through the App settings.

7.3 Deletion

You can delete your account directly in the App (Settings → Delete Account), which will permanently remove all your data from our systems, including your linked sign-in account, uploaded files, personas, and chat history.

7.4 Notifications

You can manage push notification preferences in the App settings.

7.5 Analytics

You can opt out of analytics sharing in the App settings.

7.6 Advertising

You can opt out of personalized ads at any time — see Section 4.3 for the controls. Upgrading to any paid tier disables ads entirely.

8. Children's Privacy

AI Persona is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

Ads served through AdMob in the App are configured with a content rating appropriate for general audiences and are not targeted at users known to be under 13.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have different data protection laws. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to these countries.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the App and updating the "Last Updated" date.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Your continued use of the App after any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
